I honestly went into tryouts thinking that it would be easier this year, I mean I’m seasoned right? Boy was I wrong! Despite being 30lbs lighter, way stronger, dancing with more confidence and performing moves with a higher skill level, putting together my tryout piece (and the mental stress that accompanied it) was a challenge.
While I am super proud of myself for the handwork and dedication I put in, the last few weeks have definitely taken a toll on me physically and emotionally. My body is tired and sore…and all I can think about now is:
– Were my toes pointed enough?
– Will I make it to the finals?
– Should I have re-recorded (again)?
– If I make it, what song, theme and moves should I use?
Needless to say the next 2 weeks are going to drive me crazy! In the meantime I guess I will use the “down time” to get back in the gym and refocus on this body. 20 more pounds to go…RCI!
