Recovery Day by Day
The life of a #professionalbeginner taking it day by day. There’s a lot more thought and intention that happens before I start moving now. Trying to wake up parts of the body that have gone dormant or have skewed movement. Rekindling that mind-body connection is key. Sometimes there’s weight involved and sometimes it’s just getting the movement patterns back down. But slow is the best way to go as I work towards getting back to ME.
This is the longest I’ve been out of the air. The foot break last year was just the “icing on the cake” after a year and a half of other surgeries and procedures. Two years I’ve been grounded although it feels like a lifetime. For someone whose whole world lives in movement, stillness has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to learn. That stillness though is what allowed me to heal and what’s helping me reconnect with my body.
Proud of what I was able to accomplish today and in my last few workouts. Looking forward to getting back to moving, feeling and looking more like me.
